## Getting started

**Who is this for?**
GetLeads is for GTM engineers and salespeople who build lists of B2B prospects.

**Do I need to be a coder to use an MCP?**
No. In your AI tool’s connector or MCP settings, add https://app.getleads.io/api/mcp, choose OAuth or sign-in authentication, then connect and sign in to GetLeads.

**Is there a dashboard or UI?**
It's API and MCP only. We're for people who use AI for everything.

**Do I need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan?**
Yes, but the standard $20-a-month Claude plan is enough for most people.

**Is there a setup guide or demo videos?**
Yes, when you sign up you'll be guided using our prompts and skills.

**Is there a free trial?**
Yes, every new account gets 1,000 free exports, and it's free to check how many results a search would return.

## How search works

**What is a search?**
A search is a set of filters, like job title, seniority, industry, headcount and location, used on our 542M+ contact database. Your AI assistant builds the filters from what you describe.

**Can I search in plain language but still keep the results controllable?**
Yes. Your AI assistant turns your request into exact filters, so ask it to show you the filters and a result count before it exports, then change anything you don't like.

**What does a good prompt look like?**
Treat it like building a prompt for making Apollo search filters. Don't say "marketing agencies", say "I want companies in the US with a headcount of 5-200, use all the industries that a marketing agency might be under".

**Can I use a smaller, less expensive AI model?**
Yes, the AI is just writing search filters, so it's actually quite basic.

**How should I build lists now that it's unlimited? Does anything change?**
Yes, search wide and export everyone at your target companies, then have your AI assistant pick the right people from their job titles, headlines and About sections. That way you reach decision-makers with unusual titles a narrow title filter would miss — the people nobody else is emailing.

**What's the best way to build a list of companies?**
Make a search wide enough that you definitely get all your customers, which means you'll also get a lot of companies that aren't. Then ask your AI assistant to check each company against your ICP and drop the rest.

**How do I know which filters and values I can search by?**
Ask your AI assistant to check all the search filters and suggest the different ways you could build the list.

**How do results come back?**
Your AI assistant gives you a CSV file, or you can pull results as JSON through the API and webhooks.

## Filters and industries

**What filters can we search by?**
You can find all the filters at getleads.io/data. It's what you'd get with Apollo and more.

**Can I search for companies that are hiring for a role?**
Soon we will add a way to search for every single job post on the internet.

## Enrichment, data and integrations

**What identifiers can I use for lookup?**
You can look up data using LinkedIn URLs, company domains or personal email addresses.

**Do profiles include work history, education and skills?**
Yes. Our profile data includes work and education histories with dates, skills and other available profile sections.

**Do you provide company funding data?**
Funding data is coming soon through a new provider.

**Can GetLeads enrich from domains or company page URLs?**
Yes, give your AI assistant a list of domains or company page URLs and get every contact.

**What data fields do you have per company and per contact?**
There are up to 95 data fields per contact and company profile. See getleads.io/data for the full list; searchable fields are highlighted. Fields are returned when we have them.

**Do you have phone numbers?**
Yes, 88M+ contacts have a mobile number. We also return direct dials and company phone numbers where available. Reverse lookup from a phone number is pending.

**What local business (Google Maps) data do you have?**

**What are live leads?**
Live leads are fresh contact lists you pay for as you go, on top of your plan: people who follow a company on social media, people who engage with a post, and prospects who visit your website (US only).

**Can I check which contacts in my CRM have changed jobs?**
Yes. Enrich your CRM contacts to check their current job details. The database refreshes monthly.

**What's the best way to get contacts into Clay?**

**Which integrations do you have?**
GetLeads connects through the MCP, API and webhooks. We'll be adding sequencers and CRMs soon.

**Where does GetLeads fit in my enrichment waterfall?**
First. Run your whole list through GetLeads, since it's unlimited, then send only the gaps to credit-based tools.

**Do I need to verify emails?**
Yes. Always.

## The database

**Can I license your entire database or buy a specific subset?**
We provide API and MCP access. We don't sell full-database licenses or separately licensed subsets.

**Do you disclose your upstream data suppliers?**
We aggregate data from multiple vendors. Their identities are commercially confidential.

**Is this a LinkedIn dataset?**
Not quite. We use a range of sources, but LinkedIn is such a rich dataset that any good dataset looks very similar to LinkedIn.

**How did you build the database?**
We aggregate multiple wholesale data vendors, many of which have their own data centres for scraping.

**How often is the data updated?**
The database refreshes monthly.

**How good is coverage outside the US? Is it a global database?**
It's global, with the deepest coverage in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland, the UAE, Australia and Western Europe.

## Comparisons

**How do you compare to Apollo?**
GetLeads works like Apollo's filters on a 400M+ contact database, but it's unlimited and built for AI. Coverage is usually within about 10% of Apollo's, and we have more search filters.

**Can you do lookalikes?**
Not yet, because GetLeads uses filters rather than lookalike matching. You can get close by giving your AI assistant a few best-fit companies, asking what industries and keywords they share, and searching on those.

## Pricing, limits and usage

**Can I use GetLeads in an internal recruiting platform?**
Yes. You can retrieve data through the API for internal recruiting, subject to your plan's fair-use and rate limits.

**How much does it cost? Is it month-to-month?**
It's $497 a month, or $249 if you post about us on social media. See getleads.io/partner.

**What is the partner discount, and what do I have to do for it?**
Half price, $249 a month, for the same unlimited access, as long as you post about GetLeads on LinkedIn or YouTube twice a month. See getleads.io/partner.

**How can you offer unlimited this cheaply? What's the catch?**
We pay a fixed cost to build and refresh the database each month instead of paying per lookup, so your extra searches don't cost us more. The only catch is a fair-use cap that stops anyone copying the whole database.

**Is it actually unlimited?**
Yes, within a fair-use cap of 500,000 contacts a day and 6 million a month. If you genuinely need more, just ask — we raise caps per account routinely.

**What are the API rate limits?**
Search allows 100 requests a minute with up to 50,000 results each, and enrichment allows 100 requests a minute at 100 rows each, so about 10,000 contacts a minute.

**Can I use GetLeads without using credits?**
It's free to find out how many search results there are for your filters.

**Do large agencies need more than one subscription?**
No, some of the largest outbound agencies run on a single account, and we can raise limits if you need more.

**Can I use one account for several clients?**
Yes, you can use your account to run outreach for your own clients, but don't share your login with them or other businesses.

**Can I build a SaaS product on your API?**
You can only use GetLeads as an enrichment source, paid per credit, and you need to talk to us about that first. Using the unlimited plan to power your product is not allowed.

**Can I resell the data?**
Google Maps data and live leads can be resold. If you'd like to resell our main database you can do so as an enrichment provider, so talk to us first — reselling our data without our knowledge is strictly prohibited.

**Do I need a card to start the free trial?**
You add a card but pay nothing today — it's how we stop free-trial abuse. Nothing is charged for 14 days, we email you 3 days before the trial converts, and accidental renewals are refunded.

**What happens when I cancel?**
Your account stays active until the end of the billing period. Your lists, saved searches and data all stay — we don't delete your account.

**What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?**
$97 adds another 10,000 credits instantly — one click, no plan change, no waiting for renewal. Or upgrade to Unlimited and stop counting.

**Can I switch plans later?**
Yes — upgrade anytime from the app and it takes effect immediately. The Partner plan needs a short application.

**Is pricing per seat?**
No. One pooled balance for your whole team, on every plan. We never charge per seat.

**Do credit costs ever change?**
If what an action costs ever changes, we announce it at least 30 days ahead — changes never apply mid-billing-cycle.
